Having just celebrated my 36th birthday (celebrated? really?) I’ve noticed some changes in my skin. It’s drier, has fine lines, it’s patchier … you know, more “mature”. My current beauty products no longer seem to be cutting it. So what’s a girl to do? Break open the oil cabinet, of course.
I did a little bit of research and it seems that Frankincense is the Excalibur of the skin world. Now, I have to confess, it’s one of the oils that I haven’t used very much. I have friends that SWEAR by it and use it daily … they can’t all be wrong, right?
I took coconut oil that I had on hand (about 2 oz.) and hand whipped it in glass jar, then mixed in 10 drops of Frankincense. I used it this way for a few days and then realized that I am not overly fond of the smell, so I added in 10 drops of Lavender and 10 drops of Lemon. Here’s the beauty of essential oils – you can custom blend whatever suits YOU.
Three weeks in, I notice that my skin is less patchy, smoother and softer. Already have the supplies on hand? Try it out for yourself and report back on your findings!
